Design of heaters TM AFRICA

How do AFRICA ceramic heaters function? Don't worry, we won't immerse you in a university course in physics. We will simply and honestly describe you the design of our ceramic heaters. This will permit you to understand why we are confident in their performance capability. Moreover, we will get you acquainted with all the design options so that you would be capable to make the best choice for yourself. So, what have we plotted out for you?

When elaborating the heater, we had regard to your needs. What do we all expect from the ceramic panel? It should be effective and beautiful. That's what we are ready to offer you.

Basic design

The basic design is simple, however effective. It fits the demands of many of our clients.

What is it about?

The basic design is implemented in 6 models of heaters and all models of towel dryers:

  • А370
  • Т370
  • X550
  • А500
  • Т500
  • X750

These models are represented in two types of power: 370 and 500 watts. They have three main components:

  1. powder-coated metal housing;
  2. ceramic granite plate (porcelain stoneware) of a heating wire in organic-silicon heat-resistant insulation;
  3. three-component heat-resistant compound.

We draw your attention that a heating wire filled with this compound is placed between the ceramic granite and the metal housing.

What is the principle of operation?

Heating is executed due to the coordinated actions of the two components.

  1. Infrared radiation. A flat ceramic granite plate allows heat waves to radiate in a directional and concentrated manner. Consequently, items and walls in premises are heated gently, however effectively. After heating, they are already capable to emit heat themselves. You feel a heat from the panel, items and walls simultaneously.
  2. Convection. The air located near the ceramic panel is heated as well. In compliance with physical laws, the heated air rises up, and then it is distributed throughout premises.

Environmentally-friendly convection design

Improved version of the basic design is a response to clients' requests. If you need a more powerful heater, pay attention to models with environmentally-friendly convection.

What is it about?

These heaters manufactured by AFRICA are also implemented in 6 models:

  • А700
  • Т700
  • X900
  • А1300
  • Т1300
  • X1500

The components of these heaters are similar to those of the basic design: they have a heating element under the ceramic granite, which emits heat waves when being heated.

What is the principle of operation?

The basic operation principle also does not fundamentally differ from the basic configuration: it includes both infrared and convection radiation. Actually, two heating elements of different capacities are responsible for different components:

  • 370 - 550 W – for IR radiation;
  • 330 W – for convection.

As a matter of fact, environmentally-friendly convection technology is implemented owing to this design with two heating elements. Please note, that this additional heating element:

is made of stainless steel;

  • is U-shaped (longer than the usual heating element);
  • is located in an additional housing with a convection grid;
  • it has finning for more efficient heating and heat transfer.

Its main advantage consists in its low power. This is exactly an advantage, since the heating element has a relatively low temperature in the heated condition. Owing to this:

  • the heater does not burn oxygen and dust and does not dry the air;
  • electric power is used as efficiently as possible: namely it heats the air, but not the heating element itself.

In fact, this is called environmentally-friendly convection technology.

Design with dual environmentally-friendly convection

Progress is non-stop: we are constantly looking for opportunities to improve current designs. After all, there are always clients who need something special.

What is it about?

This is one of our latest elaborations – three maximum powerful heaters manufactured by AFRICA:

  • А1000
  • Т1000
  • X1200

The design of these heaters is elaborated so that, with small dimensions (60 x 60 x 9 cm), their power capacity amounted to 1 - 1.2 kW and so that they fully comply with the State Standard of Ukraine with the maximum allowed temperature on the surface of the heater itself.

What is the principle of operation?

Like every upgrade, the heater with double environmentally-friendly convection is based on a preliminary technological solution. Here we see:

  • ceramic panel fixed in a metal housing,
  • fitted with a heating element under the ceramics,
  • air heating element,
  • covered by the back side of the heater housing with a convection grille.

The ratio of power capacities in the heating elements of these heaters is as follows:

  • 370 - 550 W – for IR radiation;
  • 630 W – for convection.

Their convection component has a larger part relative to the type of heating.

What is the essence of upgrade? It is a metal screen mounted between this housing and the air W-shaped heating element. This solution allows to separate the convection flows from the ceramic panel back side and the air heating element, thereby avoiding turbulence of these flows. What does this mean if simply stated? You significantly increase the heat pickup from the heater heated surfaces. This means that we are getting closer to the ideal: the most efficient use of electric power - the minimum figures in your bills.
